FMP 2017 ~ insecurities

In my FMP (final major project) I created a series of portraits and a self portrait revolved around insecurities. my self portrait was the main feature of this ensemble, firstly I created ideas with pixels because on television they pixelate people who don't want to be shown or cant be shown therefore I started to create self portrait inspired by pixels here is a rough sketch I created :

I wanted to pixelate my whole face and just leave one eye because everyone has a good side to them and mine was on the right (left on these pictures) therefore I =on my final portrait I wanted to cover most of my face with my hand, I also wanted my hair to be more wild than this because my hair can be very quite wild.

Here is my final portrait put up in exhibition, I had used squares from the workshop and hot glued them onto my frame to add an extra pixelated element to my piece Materials= Watercolour + Hot glue gun + Drawing pencils + plastic triangles + Squares of scrap ply

lastly in my exhibition I had 3 portraits of my friends where I wanted them to pose like the 3 wise monkeys (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil) because I felt like this really went with the theme insecurities. therefore the insecurities are trying to get into them in their individual way e.g hear no evil = the insecurities are trying to get into their heads and make them hear what others are saying and make them think they look horrid.
